Guv swearing in Carlos Cascos

Perry to swear in new Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos tomorrow:

"I don't recall any governor coming in to swear in a Cameron County judge," said judge-elect Carlos Cascos. "What bigger honor can I have than have the governor" preside over the ceremony?

Cascos said he asked Perry if he would perform the ceremony a few days after winning the Nov. 7 general election.

"He said he would be honored to fly down" and perform the ceremony, Cascos said.

A Republican head of Cameron County....sounds pretty good. Cameron County is home to Brownsville, Harlingen, and South Padre.

Today is February 17, 2007. Things look a bit different since election day, as all the hooplah has settled down and everything is back to normal. It seems that Mr. Carlos Cascos is doing an efficient job at trimming the Cameron County budget; he seems focused on meeting his objectives, one of which is making our Cameron County an honest one.
We regret that Eddie Gonzalez didn't win his election, for he is a kind and decent man and we're sure he is also very hard working. He comes from a family who really cares about Brownsville; although I hear he had a very worthy opponent; this is when voting is difficult - when the candidates are all honest and intelligent workers.

WE WERE PROUD TO HAVE SEEN AND LISTENED TO OUR FINE GOVERNOR RICK PERRY IN HARLINGEN, TX. BEFORE FALL ELECTIONS. HE WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT VICE PRESIDENT, BUT WHAT WE TOLD OUR DEMOCRATIC FAMILY WAS THAT WE WENT TO HEAR OUR GOVERNOR SPEAK IN HARLINGEN BECAUSE HE MIGHT VERY WELL BECOME OUR PRESIDENT IN THE FUTURE, AND WHAT A BRIGHT FUTURE THAT WOULD BE!

Independent Voters but registered Republicans,

Maria and Jerry Boss
