Rumors
Amtrak board Chairman David Laney said Friday that the idea of running for governor is "interesting" because of the need for a "centrist" to challenge Gov. Rick Perry. Collin County Judge Ron Harris said he approached Mr. Laney and urged him to consider running as an education-friendly challenger next year.
Cheers to a reader for pointing it out.

But... but... I thought Chris Bell was THE centrist candidate, the mandate for the new mainstream?
Has David Laney not been reading Bell's blog? How did he miss this?
